Jail And Outreach Ministry

Jail and Outreach Ministry (JOM) is a nonprofit corporation organized for charitable, religious, and educational purposes. It is an all-inclusive ministry organization. There are 32 Protestant Churches involved in Jail Outreach Ministry. They serve and minister to all individuals affected by crime victims, incarcerated people and families. They provide hope and healing, care, attention to individual spirituality, emotional well-being, and human dignity. They provide outreach with a particular focus on jails and juvenile detention, create a place to heal and a place of hope for all individuals affected by crime, develop resources to educate, develop services, develop information, and develop referrals for individuals and the community affected by crime, reduce and positively impact recidivism. They provide access to phones, bus tickets, food (McDonald’s Books), clothing, and other resources. They also assist the families of the incarcerated in obtaining ID, housing, birth certificates, overcoming emergency shut-offs, car repairs, gas cards (appointments and employment), food and provide for hygiene and other personal needs.
