Juvenile and Children’s Advocacy Project of Texas is a nonprofit legal services organization that works to reduce juvenile crime, and improve education and life outcomes for youth in Harris County, Texas. The Juvenile and Children’s Advocacy Project was founded in 2014 under the University of Houston Law Center with the mission of advocating for juvenile justice. They offer three programs geared towards economically and socially disadvantaged youth with the provision of legal, educational, and social support services. Their juvenile record sealing program provides free legal services for the sealing of juvenile records. JCAP provides law students and defense attorneys for their juvenile representation program for Dual-Status Youth needing the best defense in their cases. Their Education Right program provides community outreach and representation to juveniles with the focus on disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline.
