Description

Kindway is a faith based, nonprofit organization that provides support services to people impacted by incarceration. EMBARK is Kindway’s reentry program that prepares and supports participants in navigating their journey from incarceration to independence. The program offers support before release and critical support as individuals transition to the Central Ohio community. Eligible participants agree to return to Central Ohio upon release, demonstrate compliance with prison rules, demonstrate personal investment in their future, show a high degree of ambition, self-awareness, accountability and humility and pass a formal in-depth face-to-face interview. After release, EMBARK Transition Managers support participants with placement in transitional housing, locating independent housing, transportation, food and clothing, employment, financial planning support, connection with a faith community, recovery community, and additional social services. Other programs include Fresh Start, which provides outfits to all women released from the Ohio Reformatory for Women. EQUIP program serves participants with lengthy sentences and those preparing for release.
