The Lawrence County District Attorney's Office sponsors the Jail to Jobs Reentry Program to assist incarcerated individuals during reentry. The purpose of the program is to assist individuals who are exiting the corrections system with locating and obtaining employment that will help facilitate independent living and reduce the likelihood of recidivism. Staff understand the barriers that individuals with felony convictions face when attempting to enter the workforce, and they offer services to ensure that individuals have access to employers who believe in second chances. While some individuals with felony convictions are eligible for the program, not all are. Individuals with convictions for any sexual contact with a minor are ineligible, as are those who are currently incarcerated or who have open criminal charges. Those who do meet eligibility requirements can contact the Lawrence County District Attorney's Office to discuss available services, and for assistance with entering the workforce after their release.
