Section Title

Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Post-Conviction Justice Unit

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office Post-Conviction Justice Unit (PCJU) is an office under the District Attorney's Office that reviews wrongful post-conviction cases. PCJU's goal is to embrace transparency in its reinvestigation process and to work in partnership with the applicant and their counsel to find the truth and achieve justice. The justice review is available to anyone convicted of crimes in a case prosecuted by the Manhattan D.A.'s Office. PCJU will screen cases as expeditiously as possible and communicate in writing with applicants about whether PCJU is reinvestigating their cases. In addition to reviewing individual cases, PCJU leads initiatives to prevent future injustices. To request a review by this office, fill out the application on their website, and return it by email or U.S. mail to their address. For more information on who is eligible, contact them directly.
