Mobile Area Interfaith Conference (MAIC) is an Alabama nonprofit corporation, and an IRS charitable organization created 41 years ago. They exist to increase awareness of social justice issues that affect the disenfranchised. Its mission is to empower the marginalized and build bridges in our community through advocacy, education and service. MAIC offers the metro chaplaincy program. This program offers Pre-Release Services such as GED classes and testing provided through volunteers and Goodwill Easterseals staff. In addition, religious services are provided weekly for various faith traditions. Another program by MAIC is the neighbor center. This program offers community-based reentry services for returning neighbors- former individuals from local, state, and federal correctional centers. They provide case management services through individualized goal setting, financial stability, self-sufficiency and prevention of re-incarceration. Lastly, they have the academy for career development. This is an education, training and employment program for incarcerated adults. Please get in touch with them for more information on the services this organization provides.
