Neighborhood Legal Services

Neighborhood Legal Services is a community-based organization that offers legal assistance to underserved and impoverished individuals. The organization provides representation to individuals who are facing eviction, as well as those experiencing food or financial insecurity. Some of their clients are survivors of domestic violence, veterans and individuals with disabilities. Neighborhood Legal Services also offers support for children with significant physical disabilities who require medical equipment in their daily lives. While the organization does maintain physical offices, they also utilize a Justice Bus to offer mobile services in underserved communities where travel to a legal aid office may be difficult. Neighborhood Legal Services is not equipped to offer representation or advice regarding current or past criminal matters. Staff and volunteers provide support in four key areas: housing, disability rights, public benefits and family services.
