The New York State Department of Labor is a division of the New York state government focused on vocational resources and services. The office can help facilitate access to unemployment benefits for qualifying individuals, coordinate employment services for job seekers and provide support for employers in the community. Their Career Development programs include virtual career fairs and targeted workshops to assist individuals with locating potential careers based on their interests, needs and location. New York Department of Labor also maintains the JobZone database, a resource developed to assist job seekers with locating available positions based on a variety of search parameters. Additionally, the organization fosters the New York Hire Now initiative, which provides direct access to job openings across the state of New York. The office also processes all reports of fraud, workforce discrimination and the denial of wages. Individuals with disabilities may receive support navigating vital needs to assist them with remaining in the workforce.
