Northern Neck Regional Jail Community Corrections

The Northern Neck Regional Jail offers Community Corrections services to incarcerated people entering the society. They provide the local courts with alternatives to adult incarceration when an individual meets the requirements for the program. Services include Pre-Trial, Re-Entry and Transitional Services and Community Based Probation supervision. Persons about to be released from incarceration or those who have been recently released to the Northern Neck are eligible for Offender Re-Entry and Transition Services (ORTS). ORTS provides faith and non-faith based Parenting Classes, Thinking for a Change, Employment Skills Development, Life Skills Development, Obtain Identification Documents, Release Planning Educational Classes, Anger Management classes. They also provide transportation assistance to employment interviews or employment sites, housing assistance which includes shelter referrals, job search assistance, assistance in obtaining identification documentation, vocational or educational training referrals and Referrals to other agencies that provide services that ORTS does not offer. In addition, probation services are provided by Order of the Court to prisoners residing in Westmoreland County, Richmond County, Northumberland County and Lancaster County. Probation supervision includes community service, substance abuse testing/treatment, sex offender assessment/treatment and other services.
