Description

PLACES is a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services for people trying to recover from mental illnesses. They act as a service provider for the Returning Home Ohio (RHO) reentry program. The program assists people with severe mental conditions in reentering society after incarceration. RHO is a supportive housing program operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) in Ohio. The program reduces the rate of recidivism and homelessness for formerly incarcerated individuals returning to the community by providing housing and supportive services. PLACES connects participants to mental health agencies and teaches them to maintain housing, obtain valid employment to increase their income and improve their quality of life. Other services include support groups and 12-step recovery meetings, access to reentry resources such as employment services, local pantries and meal sites, community social events, physical and mental health providers, case management and assistance with successful social integration.
