Section Title

Riverside County Conviction Review Committee

Riverside County Conviction Review Committee is a team housed in the District Attorney's office that affirms justice is carried out. The function of the unit is to ensure that innocent individuals do not remain behind bars, and to determine whether claims of innocence are reliable. Staff investigate all claims of innocence which meet the eligibility requirements outlined on the organization website. In order to submit a claim to the office, individuals must have a conviction that occurred in the Superior Court of Riverside County, and a conviction which does not include a guilty plea except when evidence of coercion exists. Applicants must also be currently incarcerated for the conviction of a felony that carries substantial collateral consequences. All individuals must also provided verifiable evidence not presented during the initial trial, or evidence for which new technology exists to confirm innocence. For more information about the process, individuals or their attorneys may contact the Riverside County Conviction Review Committee directly.
