Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a faith-based, nonprofit, charitable organization that provides services to needy community members through shelter, food, clothing, and medical aid. They serve East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Pointe Coupee, Iberville, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Ascension, Assumption, St. James and Livingston parishes. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge provides food service, shelter/housing, stores/distribution centers, uniforms for kids, prescription Services, disaster relief, thirst for justice legal clinic and dental services. The legal clinic provides free legal advice to the community and legal referral services to needy men and women who don't know where to turn for assistance in legal matters. To qualify, the individual's household income must be below the federal guidelines for poverty. In addition, their Bishop OTT Shelter provides night shelters for men and a Day Center for homeless women and children. They help the homeless find employment, improve their education, receive substance abuse treatment and get back on their feet.
