St. Joseph the Worker

St. Joseph the Worker is a faith-based organization committed to assisting individuals train for and obtain permanent employment. Their mission is to act as a bridge between underserved individuals, as well as those experiencing homelessness, and local employers. St. Joseph the Worker provides participants with the guidance and job development coursework that will prepare them to enter the workforce and maintain full-time, stable employment. The organization follows a three-step process with participants. This process begins by assisting individuals with overcoming barriers to employment, such as providing interview clothing, transportation to interviews and assistance with preparing job application materials. The next step is connecting participants with viable opportunities for employment. Rather than refer participants to further trainings, St. Joseph the Worker pairs participants directly with local employers based on mutual needs. The final stage is empowering individuals with the mindsets that lead to permanent behavioral changes. This includes individualized support and guidance based on the unique skillsets and goals of each participant.
