Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative (T.O.R.I)

Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative (T.O.R.I) is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides dedicated support that helps formerly incarcerated people acclimate back into society such as assistance obtaining housing, employment, education, or healthcare. T.O.R.I.’s goal is to provide stability and security for returning citizens. Through assistance in the six core components of employment, education, housing, healthcare, spiritual guidance and family unification, T.O.R.I. addresses the individual needs of the person. T.O.R.I. partners with shelters, transitional housing programs, property owners and housing authorities to assist clients and their families in finding a place to call home. They also partner with agencies to offer GED and vocational training, support groups for behavior and addiction issues, basic life skills and financial literacy to serve as a foundation for success. Resume Creation, Interviewing Skills, Workplace Ethics, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Conflict Resolution and Time Management provides each client with the job skills necessary to gain and maintain employment.
