The Wayne County Public Defender's Office is located in Lyons, NY. With one Public Defender, one 1st Assistant Public Defender, one 2nd Assistant Public Defender, nine Assistant Public Defenders, two Investigators and one Sentence Mitigation Specialist, this office provides legal services to individuals in Wayne County that have been charged with committing a crime or a Penal Law offense and cannot afford a lawyer. They specialize in Penal Law violations, misdemeanor or felony-level offenses. For those clients who have already made their first appearance in Court (including at the Centralized Arraignment court at the jail), you may have been preliminarily assigned to the Public Defender's Office.
