Westside Justice Center

The Westside Justice Center is a community based nonprofit committed to serving individuals in the greater Chicago area. Volunteers and staff offer pro bono holistic legal and social services to community members on the west side of Chicago, as well as workshops and forms developed to enhance the community as a whole. Their goal is to help eliminate racial injustice and inequity for Chicago residents and the nation as a whole through education, advocacy and policy influence. Westside Justice Center believes strongly in decriminalizing communities of color and eliminating the stigma around chemical dependence, mental health disorders and poverty. Their hope is that work on the ground in the community will help address the barriers that perpetuate mass incarceration, high recidivism rates and ongoing addiction issues. Some of their work includes a community gallery to celebrate community advocates and recognize the history of activism in the area, as well as regularly schedule events to disseminate information about issues of inequity and strategize about the best methods to improve community wellness.
