Womanspace East, Inc. is a community based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and children experiencing homelessness. Their mission is to address chronic homelessness through wraparound services centered on crisis resolution and treatment for substance abuse and/or mental health disorders. Staff set a goal to address the unique needs of each family and individual so that they can reach independent living and self sufficiency. Womanspace East, Inc. provides emergency residential services for families with dependent children. The goal of this program is to ensure that families and children are not forced into homelessness due to eviction. During their stay, families receive support locating and securing permanent housing through a combination of individualized case management and community referrals. They also facilitate a child development program that offers academic, social and emotional support services while they reside at Womanspace East, Inc.
