Description

The Green River Reentry Council is a community service organization working to provide reentry services to formerly incarcerated people. Located in Owensboro, Kentucky, the council serves people in the Green River Area Development District (Union, Henderson, Webster, McLean, Daviess, Ohio, and Hancock counties). Their mission is to promote the successful reentry of the formerly incarcerated into our communities by advocating and assisting. In addition, they advocate and educate on the need for adequate transitional housing, identify resources or lack of resources and advocate or promote as needed for health care (Prescriptions, Medical, Dental, Vision, Mental Health). The council also advocates and educate the community about substance abuse and supports substance abuse programs, identifies employers who will hire people with criminal records, develop employers who will hire the formerly incarcerated through education and advocacy.
