Ready4Reentry Forensic Peer Mentor Training Program at GMHCN
Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is a corporation that offers alternatives to traditional treatment for mental health and substance abuse. The mission of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network is to promote permanent recovery through a combination of advocacy, education, job access, personal development, mentorship, and self-help, and to unify as one coalition to support the needs set each year at the annual statewide peer conference. Georgia's Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Centers offer peer-run alternatives to other mental health day programs and psychiatric hospitalization centers. Each of the five Peer Support, Wellness, and Respite Centers includes respite rooms that are available to individuals throughout Georgia 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The three or four respite rooms at each center are offered free to individuals and can be occupied by individuals experiencing life challenges who feel they would benefit from round-the-clock mentorship for up to seven nights every 30 days.
