Description

HandUp Prison Re-Entry Program provides faith-based reentry support services to formerly incarcerated individuals returning to the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. This program is offered by Christian Outreach Center of Baton Rouge, a nonprofit homeless prevention ministry helping people toward self-sufficiency. Louisiana has the highest incarceration rate in the US, each month hundreds of formerly incarcerated individuals are released into the community and often without the resources they need to succeed. HandUp Prison Re-Entry Program responds to the systemic crisis of chronic homelessness by partnering with local and state agencies to help ensure that participants of their program receive a full spectrum of services. The six month HandUp program exists to provide at-risk individuals with the critical skills necessary to re-enter society.
