Villa Maria

Villa Maria is a transitional home serving poor and marginalized women experiencing homelessness in El Paso, Texas. They house women with special needs, including formerly incarcerated women, as well as those escaping domestic violence or in recovery for substance abuse and/or mental illness. Each woman is provided with private bedroom and bathroom accommodations, as well as nourishing meals, free of charge. In addition, professional case management and access to services are given to each resident at Villa Maria, including assistance with job training and employment, counseling, transportation, housing, medical and mental health care, education, and financial assistance programs. To enter their program, individuals must first call Villa Maria to schedule a telephone interview with a case manager. During the interview, the case manager will speak with the individual to learn more about them and their history, goals, and needs. Upon approval from the case manager post-interview, the person will be placed on a waiting list until one of the rooms becomes available.
