Caddo Transitional Work Program– Review
Description
Transitional Work Programs are available to certain incarcerated individuals within 6 months to 4 years of release from incarceration. In most cases, those convicted of sex crimes are excluded from participating in the transitional work program. Incarcerated individuals who are approved for the program must maintain employment at an approved job and return to the corrections facility when not working. Probation and Parole Officers supervise the responsibilities for contract TWP’s. This may include holding random drug tests and random shakedowns of the facility. Individuals who participate in the Transitional Work Program are more successful during reentry, and a number stay on with their employers after release. Individuals who face technical violations may also enter the Transitional Work Program as an alternative to incarceration.
