Philadelphia Educational Options Program

Description

The School District of Philadelphia Educational Options Program (EOP) is a program designed to allow adults to earn credits towards a high school diploma. These programs are district-managed and offer a second chance to students who have dropped out and were unsuccessful in a traditional full-day high school setting. EOP is a program designed to allow adults 18 years of age or older (no upper age limit) to continue earning credits towards a high school diploma.  The School District of Philadelphia offers three Education Options Programs at different locations in Philadelphia. Offered three times a year, October through June, these programs are held at Northeast, South Philadelphia, and Benjamin Franklin high schools. Students have an opportunity to earn 6 or more credits towards graduation each academic year. Overall, Philadelphia EOP seeks to uplift their students by providing them with multiple options for earning their high school diploma, ensuring that students grow each year and graduate with the academic skills necessary for success in college, work, and life, and by providing specialized services, comprehensive supports, and transition services. Philadelphia EOP maintains high expectations in the classroom and provides rich and meaningful opportunities for professional development, ensuring that students grow each year and graduate with the academic skills necessary for success in college, work, and life.
