Community Helping Place
Description
Community Helping Place is a registered nonprofit organization serving individuals in the greater Dahlonega, Georgia community. Staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing assistance for residents of Lumpkin county who are experiencing food insecurity, housing emergencies and limited access to basic health services. Their mission is to address the systemic barriers that community members face to self-sufficient living. Community Helping Place maintains a free clinic which offers primary medical services and limited dental care to individuals experiencing homelessness, uninsured individuals or families who meet low-income eligibility requirements. The Food Pantry provides access to free and nutritious food items. Additionally, Community Helping Place maintains a summer food program to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals outside the school year. Mothers of infants can visit the Baby and Personal Care Pantry. In addition to regular services, Community Helping Place offers emergency assistance to qualifying individuals.
