Our Brother’s Place
Description
Our Brother's Place is a transitional home for community members experiencing difficulty recovering from chemical dependence. Founded by a single community leader, the program has expanded to house almost 250 men and women in search of a supportive community during their path to sobriety. As Our Brother's Place grew, the organization expanded services to include targeted mentorship, individualized counseling and ongoing services for residents who move on from the program. All residents of transitional housing have the opportunity to live in a space with others who understand the importance of sober living, giving all individuals access to a compassionate and understanding peer group. They also have access to recovery workshops offered to the community each week. Through these workshops, residents in the program can connect with members of the community at every stage of recovery. Our Brother's place also stresses the importance of daily accountability in recovering from chemical dependence long term.
