The Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) is a government agency serving Alabama residents suffering from mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders. Their mission is to help, empower, support, and promote Alabamians' health and well-being. ADMH collaborates with community-based groups across Alabama to provide outpatient and residential services. Services include co-occurring treatment programs, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and mental health services for adolescents, adults and women. Additionally, the Alabama Department of Mental Health offers Rights Protection and Advocacy services for individuals in state facilities. The internal advocacy program provides a non-adversarial system of rights protection and advocacy that focuses on rights awareness and prevention of rights violations. The Office of Mental Illness Community Programs serves as the primary liaison between the department and certified mental illness community mental health providers. All state funded providers offer services on a sliding fee scale. Contact the Alabama Department of Mental Health directly for more information on their programs and services.
