Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, GA Indigent Defense

The Office of Indigent Defense for Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit is located on the second floor of The Frank C. Mills III, Cherokee County Justice Center in Canton, Georgia. It serves indigent criminal defendants in Cherokee County. The mission of the Cherokee County Indigent Defense Office is to maintain a just, efficient and vigorous Indigent Defense Program which meets the requirements of the Georgia Indigent Defense Act of 2003, the standards promulgated by the GPDSC, and State and Federal law. The Georgia Public Defender Standards Council has established an Indigent Defense Committee to oversee the Indigent Defense program for the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit. The Indigent Defense Committee is authorized and directed to implement all changes reasonably necessary to comply with the Georgia Indigent Defense Act of 2003 and the standards for Indigent Defense promulgated by the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council.
