Description
The Bonner County Public Defender's Office is located in Sandpoint, Idaho. With one Public Defender, one Chief Deputy Public Defender, three Deputy Public Defenders, one Investigator and other support staff, the Public Defender's Office serves the indigent people of Bonner County. Attorneys from the Public Defender's Office are court-appointed to represent defendants accused of crimes in misdemeanor and felony cases charged in Bonner County, defendants charged with felony crimes in other states being held by Bonner County for extradition to the charging state, juveniles in delinquency cases, parties in Child Protective Act cases, mentally disabled, individuals facing involuntary commitments to locked facilities, defendants facing incarceration in contempt of court cases arising out of a failure to obey civil court orders and civilian witnesses from Bonner County summoned by another state to testify in a criminal case in that state in the court determination of whether the witness must obey the out-of-state summons.
