Bridging the Gap In Virginia is a non-profit organization located in Richmond, VA that provides a bridge to success for those men and women struggling with addiction, incarceration, chronic homelessness, and lack of employability. Working with partner organizations, Bridging the Gap aims to reduce recidivism, homelessness, unemployment, and relapse. Bridging the Gap provides comprehensive pre-and post-release judicial community restorative justice service to returning citizens, as well as other citizens with adverse judicial records. The goals of the programs are focused on reducing the recidivism rate and promoting a healthy, wholesome lifestyle by providing rehabilitative services that ensure a successful transition back into the community. The program maintains a working relationship with its participants, local businesses, educational systems and various criminal justice agencies. Bridging The Gap In Virginia offers services to assist with employment, housing, family obligations and addiction. The organization have expanded its mission to address environmental justice and green workforce development and seek to reach those communities most unfairly targeted by the criminal justice system or federal and state governments.
