The  Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) Innocence Program is part of the Committee for Public Counsel Services - the Massachusetts state agency tasked with providing lawyers to people who cannot afford an attorney. They are organized under the CPCS Private Counsel Division. CPCS identifies and fights to overturn wrongful convictions across the state. The CPCS Innocence Program aims to identify and litigate new trial motions on behalf of indigent Massachusetts state defendants who are actually innocent of the crimes of which they have been convicted. They review and litigate both DNA and non-DNA-based innocence claims, with special attention to cases involving eyewitness identification evidence, false confessions, and flawed or invalidated forensic science testimony. If you are an indigent defendant wrongfully convicted of a Massachusetts state crime, or their loved ones seeking help, you must write through CPCS' questionnaire. It is encouraged that you do not send original documents. Also, CPCS serves individuals in Massachusetts only.
