Concord Transitional Work Center
Description
The New Hampshire Department of Corrections (NHDOC) operates a community corrections division that offers various transitional housing units. The Concord Transitional Work Center, constructed in 1988, is a limited correctional facility that holds incarcerated men reaching the end of their sentences with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections. It has a total population of 156 people, making it New Hampshire's second largest facility. Most Concord Transitional Work Center participants have six months or less left on their sentence. This transitional prison is the last stage of an individual's incarceration before being released into society, focusing on the most immediate barriers to independent living and the numerous risk factors that increase the likelihood of recidivism. The Family Connections Center (FCC) provides various services to Concord Transitional Work Center participants, including outside work crews, programming, and treatment.
