Delaware State Housing Authority Family Reentry Program
Description
Family Reentry Program is a unique collaborative effort to ensure that individuals exiting prison have a safe, stable living environment. Unlike many reentry organizations, Family Reentry Program specifically works to reunite formerly incarcerated individuals with close family members who are living in subsidized housing. The organization works in partnership with Delaware State Housing Authority, Dover Housing Authority, New Castle County Housing Authority, Newark Housing Authority, Wilmington Housing Authority, the Delaware Department of Correction, and the Delaware Center for Justice to reduce recidivism and support family reunification. In order to enter the program, individuals must be United States citizens or documented immigrants who reside in Delaware, have a family member in subsidized housing and be recently released from prison. Accepted individuals will have the option to live with the designed family member as a guest for up to two years while they work toward financial security and personal rehabilitation.
