The Floyd County Public Defender's Office is located in Rome, Georgia. With eleven attorneys and two investigators, the office serves Floyd County, which is located within the Rome Judicial Circuit. The mission of the Floyd County Public Defender's Office is to ensure equal representation for those facing criminal accusations regardless of economic or social status. The office provides a client centered approach to the zealous representation of our indigent community in criminal, delinquent, and dependency matters with respect for all. All delinquent children are appointed an attorney from the Public Defender's Office. The Public Defender’s office represents parents who are indigent and cannot afford to hire legal counsel. An application for a public defender needs to be done several days prior to the court hearing if possible. This can be done at the Juvenile Court offices. The Public Defenders Office is located on the ground level of the Administrative Building on East Fourth Avenue.
