Great Lakes Recovery Center Offender Success
Great Lakes Recovery Center Offender Success works in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Corrections. The program is committed to easing the transition for justice involved people. Their mission is to improve public safety while offering the services that individuals need to successfully return to the community and break the cycle of reincarceration. Staff and volunteers begin the intervention process immediately after release with a focus on connecting returning citizens to local organizations that specialized in transition services, including residential services, job development and educational opportunities. They also work to connect individuals in recovery to treatment centers for substance abuse and coordinate access to medical services for those with mental health needs. Great Lakes Recovery Center Offender Success Program also focuses on personal development, family unification and ongoing support for individuals as they strive to break the cycle of incarceration.
