Harmony House is a transitional living facility providing a low-barrier housing option to working men and those experiencing homelessness. The mission of Harmony House is to provide quality, permanent and transitional housing and primary health care to individuals experiencing homelessness in Texas through a supportive, drug and alcohol-free community. Harmony House also works closely with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to assist and house incarcerated men seeking parole in their transition back into society. Parolees, once released, are offered a place to live, employment assistance and medical care through the on-site Harris Health Community Clinic. Their residential housing facility comprises men ranging from people with present-day alcohol addiction or people with substance abuse disorder to those in active or long-term recovery. Harmony House guests receives a clean, attractive, self-policing dormitory-style residence, free access to the adjoining Respite Center’s primary care medical clinic, pharmacy, licensed dietician, substance abuse and anger management meetings, and case-managed referrals to community support services.
