Heartland Family Service

Heartland Family Service is a community based organization offering wraparound services to support vulnerable members of the community. Their mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities through a combination of direct advocacy, education, counseling, and support services. The organization offers a broad range of support, most especially for those experiencing homelessness, living with extreme mental illness, and/or recovering from substance abuse. Staff understand that many of the underlying factors contributing to incarceration can be avoided through targeted support services. They work to rehabilitate individuals and treat the conditions they live with so that they can successfully integrate into the community. Services include counseling, in-patient treatment for mental health crisis or substance abuse treatment, rapid rehousing, and supportive living environments for individuals who are unlikely to succeed in a home by themselves.
