Hyacinth
Hyacinth AIDS Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides support to individuals living with HIV, and serves as a critical voice to the general public. Hyacinth AIDS Foundation is the first and largest AIDS service organization in the state of New Jersey. Their ultimate goal is to help people with HIV develop mental and physical strength, manage their sexual health, live life safely with partners, and maintain a treatment regimen that works for them. Hyacinth staff visit HIV-positive incarcerated persons in Essex County Jail, Middlesex County Correctional Facility, Mercer County, Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, and East Jersey State Prison as they are nearing release. During these visits they provide support and resource connections that allow formerly incarcerated people to access healthcare and other resources like housing, recovery, support services, and follow-up care. Additionally, Hyacinth offers information on HIV/AIDS, STIs, harm reduction programs, and other Hyacinth services and volunteer opportunities. Contact Hyacinth AIDS Foundation directly for more information on their services.
