The First Judicial District, State Appellate Public Defender's (OSAD) Office is located in Chicago, Illinois. A nine member board governs the Office of State Appellate Public Defender. The board advises the State Appellate Defender and may, subject to rules of the Supreme Court, recommend policies for the operation of the office of the State Appellate Defender.
