Kankakee County Clean Slate Program

The Kankakee County Clean Slate Program offers individuals an opportunity to expunge certain charges from their permanent record. This can increase access to government benefit programs, certain housing communities and participation in various community programs or educational programs. All individuals must agree to meet with a volunteer attorney to discuss options during an intake interview. Applicants receive a date and time for the intake interview within three days of submitting their application. Those who fail to attend their appointment or arrive late may not be eligible for the Clean Slate program. All individuals are eligible to apply for Clean Slate, though not all individuals will ultimately be accepted into the program. To apply, individuals are required to submit the online form provided on the Clean Slate website in full. Questions about the program can be directed to the State's Attorney Office of Kankakee County, where the Clean Slate program is housed.
