Kenosha Human Development Services
Kenosha Human Development Services (KHDS) is a nonprofit community agency working to help all people in the Kenosha area to lead healthy, productive lives. Kenosha offers community based programming and family intervention as alternatives to incarceration. KHDS' Supportive Housing Program offers up to 24 months of assistance to 12 homeless single adults by providing them with housing in scattered site situations and additional supportive services. In addition, they offer crisis intervention, both in-person and phone service for people experiencing substance abuse problems, feeling suicidal, angry, depressed or anxious, lonely or isolated, physical or emotional abuse, runaway issues or if they just need to talk. Their KARE Center is an eleven-bed, community-based residential facility that offers a safe haven with trained staff where an individual can get mental health and substance abuse recovery.
