La Crosse Jail Ministry

La Crosse Jail Ministry is a faith-based organization that offers incarcerated persons spiritual direction, rehabilitative support, and connections to faith communities. Their goal is to help the justice-impacted people to become better adjusted and make a new life for themselves. Western Technical College coordinates its PROVEN program to help incarcerated people develop skills related to job search and subsequent jobs. Compassionate Community Faith Alliance's (CCFA), Circles of Support partners with the Jail Chaplain to help support incarcerated people upon release with stable relationships to break the cycle of recidivism. GED courses are also popular with many people in jail. They also offer daily religious services to the incarcerated population. La Crosse Jail Ministry's mission is to provide an opportunity and create an environment for incarcerated people that awaken, renew and stimulate their spiritual life, thereby promoting behavioral change, social reintegration and personal well-being.
