Description
The Lackawanna County Public Defender’s Office is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It represents those adult individuals who have been charged with a criminal offense and are determined to be indigent. With one Public Defender, attorneys and other supporting staff, the office is committed to ensuring that all individuals facing criminal charges or a criminal trial have access to quality defense attorneys per their 6th Amendment rights. If you cannot afford an attorney, you may obtain an application for Legal Representation at the Public Defender’s Office. You must provide proof of income and any papers that you may have pertaining to your charge. If you are eligible, you will be provided with representation by the Public Defender’s Office. If you are in prison, you may obtain an Application for Legal Representation from your counselor. The completed application will be delivered to the Public Defender’s Office, and you will be notified of your eligibility.
