Legal Aid Society of Columbus
Description
The Legal Aid Society of Columbus has a long history of assisting residents in the Columbus community with civil matters in court. The organization is dedicated to providing pro bono services to senior citizens, low-income individuals and families in need. These services are meant to ensure equal access to justice in the court system and to help individuals navigate the difficult aspects of the legal system. Currently, Legal Aid Society of Columbus is not able to offer pro bono services to individuals who require assistance with criminal matters or appeals. In order to determine eligibility and schedule services with the organization, all individuals must first participate in an intake interview with staff at Legal Aid Society of Columbus. Staff members work with individuals to prove eligibility, including financial status, as well as to determine the best path toward resolution of their civil matters. This may include direct representation or assistance completing forms to file without an assigned attorney. For more information or to begin the intake process, individuals should use the contact information provided on the organization website.
