Link of Love – Support for Families with Incarcerated Loved Ones
Description
Link of Love Support for Families with Loved Ones works in partnership with community organizations to support individuals during reentry. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, founders held monthly meeting to assist the families of incarcerated loved ones and to answer questions they might have about best supporting their loved ones during incarceration. While the pandemic has necessitated a shift in how the organization operates, it continues to work in tandem with faith-based and community organizations to ensure successful reintegration into the community after individuals are released from prison. Link of love works directly with Partnership in Entry to connect formerly incarcerated individuals with vital services and organizations that meet their needs and help them navigate barriers to independent living after release. The organization also helps advocate for and facilitate regular contact with incarcerated individuals through physical mail, phone calls and video messaging. Link of Love believes strongly that incarcerated individuals benefit from sustained and meaningful relationships with people outside the justice system.
