Description
The Logan County Public Defender's Office is part of the Seventh Judicial Circuit in West Virginia. With a team of one Chief Defender, three Assistant Public Defenders and other legal staff, this office provides legal representation to adults and juveniles accused of a crime who cannot afford to pay a lawyer in Logan County. The Public Defender ensures that every accused citizen, regardless of financial resources, receives zealous and effective representation as mandated by the United States and West Virginia Constitutions. The Public Defender Services (PDS) administers the Logan County Public Defender's Office. PDS funds all indigent defense for the State of West Virginia. They provide representation by two methods private attorneys on a court-appointed basis and full-time public defenders at public defender corporations.
