Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota
Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota (LSS) is a community based organization that provides support services to individuals from all walks of life. Various service locations can be found throughout the state of South Dakota. Program services include childcare, education opportunities, job readiness training, job-seeking assistance, reentry support, residential psychiatric treatment, group care, emergency shelter, pregnancy counseling, adoption, foster care, kinship services, and intensive independent living. The Re-Entry Services program assists individuals transitioning from correctional facilities, group homes and chemical dependency treatment facilities back into their communities. In partnership with the Department of Corrections and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, LSS operates a residential/community program in the Rapid City area for women in the correctional system. Incarcerated men can find LSS programs in the South Dakota State Prison located in Sioux Falls and the Mike Durfee State Prison located in Springfield.
