Lutheran Social Services – Prison and Family Ministry

Description

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois's Prisoner and Family Ministry (PFM) program provides services to incarcerated individuals and their families. They also work directly with justice-impacted people after their release. The mission is to foster positive relationships between individuals and their children, offer personal and job development training, and promote a successful reentry into the community. PFM facilitates three programs: Visits to Mom, Re-Entry services for Returning Citizens, and Storybook Project. The Visits to Mom program offers free transportation to children with incarcerated mothers at Decatur and Logan Correctional Centers. Re-entry Services for Returning Citizens focuses on reentry support and referral services post-release. Storybook Project helps incarcerated parents connect with their children through reading.
