Massachusetts Committee For Public Counsel Services’ Alternative Commitment Unit, Malden

Description

The Committee For Public Counsel Services' Alternative Commitment Unit (ACU) Office of Middlesex County is located in Malden, Massachusetts. With one Attorney-in-Charge, two Trial attorneys and one Paralegal, the ACU's lawyers represent clients in cases brought against Juveniles and youth. In addition, the Office attorneys are also available for a confidential consultation and court-appointed legal representation. Although the ACU is based in Malden, its attorneys try their Superior Court cases throughout the eastern portion of Massachusetts. Furthermore, the dedicated public defenders in the Malden Alternative Commitment Unit Office provide high-quality, client-centered legal representation to indigent persons of all ages accused of crimes, misdemeanor and felony cases. The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay and the right to a lawyer. The privilege of offering representation to those in need is why the law has offered public defense services. Individuals may contact the organization directly or work through an attorney for more information or file a claim.
