Massachusetts Community Justice Project
The Massachusetts Community Justice Project is a Massachusetts Trial Court initiative to assist individuals in need. The project was created by the Trial Court Task Force on Mental Health and Substance Abuse. The mission of the Massachusetts Community Justice Project is to assist with the development of sustainable solutions through strategic community planning and action, which lower the risk of justice involvement and reincarceration among people with mental health and/or substance use disorders. In addition to direct support for individuals, the project operates as an advocate for more equitable justice and works to educate community stakeholders about the realities of justice involved individuals. They do this by hosting Community Justice Workshops which bring leaders from various sectors in the community for targeted planning and information sharing.
