Next Step Cottage

Next Step Cottage is a Connecticut-based residential re-entry program for women who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. It is a program run by the Perception Programs, Inc. which is a nonprofit organization that promotes wellness through holistic and behavioral health care for individuals and our community. It is a 28-bed housing program that provides a safe, stable environment for women transitioning back into the community. Re-entry services at Next Step Cottage include assistance in finding employment and the creation of an after-care plan, including housing assistance and connection to community resources. The services help women in building essential skills for successful community reintegration. Next Step Cottage is trauma and gender-informed, and all treatment is tailored to the unique needs of women who have experienced trauma. The case managers assist participants with with Employment Assistance, Comprehensive Case Management, Trauma-Informed Programming and Housing Assistance.
